Joel Hopkins - Youth Pastor
Joel was born in Columbus, Ohio where he became a Buckeye fan from the moment he entered this world. His family then moved to Michigan and during Joel's adolescent years God opened his eyes and gave him a fervent desire to learn more about God's word. God then called Joel to full-time ministry which then led him to receive his Bachelors of Arts at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. During his years there he met his better half Ellen who was an international student from Germany studying there as well. After getting married in 2006 Joel and Ellen finished their Master of Arts degrees at Wheaton Graduate School while they both served in youth ministry. Both Joel and Ellen along with their two girls (Eliana, Johanna) have a passion for disciple-making and seeing young people become equipped to build up God's church. Joel loves hanging out with young people, playing strategy computer/board games, and riding his motorcycle. Working with young people over the past 10 years keeps him young and he enjoys playing and watching most sports (especially football, basketball, and volleyball).
